Abstract Submission Instructions


Thank you for your interest in submitting an abstract.

  • Papers must be original work and should not be advertisements or overly commercial.
  • Your abstract should be an extended abstract written in such a way that the reviewers can quickly make an informed decision about the suitability of your paper for presentation at the conference. Explain clearly the intended paper and its technical significance in 500 to 1000 words, with not more than two pages inclusive of figures and equations. Also include the name(s) of the author(s) and the title of the paper at the top of the abstract.
  • Abstract submission will open on 15 November 2010 and close on 31 January 2011.
  • All abstracts must be submitted during this period through the Abstract Submission page.
  • Email submissions will not be accepted.
  • In the Abstract Submission page, you will be asked to provide the name and contact details of the corresponding author and the title of the paper.
  • Abstracts should be prepared in advance using a word processor before accessing the website. The text can then be either cut and pasted into the appropriate section of the Abstract Submission page or saved in pdf format before uploading from the Abstract Submission page.Raqueros
  • During the abstract submission process, you will be asked to select a Principal Technology Area and an Alternate Technology Area for your abstract. If your abstract does not fall within the Santander (special) topics and Oceans (core) topics, you may select "11.1 Other" and then enter the title of this Other topic in the box labelled "Specify Other".
  • If you are invited by the chair of a special topic to submit an abstract to that special topic, you must enter the name of the chair in the box following the statement "I was asked to submit this abstract by:".
  • All special and core topics are available in the Technical Program page. Please familiarize yourself with them before submitting an abstract.
  • If your abstract is accepted, you will be required to submit a full paper in PDF format. Instructions about how to do this will be available on this website early in 2011. Full Registration (not a Student Registration) is required for inclusion of the paper in the Technical Program and Conference Proceedings.
